Infantry troops will not be carried over (why not? I haven't a clue). Also, your archer troops can be carried over to Alexandria 2 if you build them. The invasions will come from two different places. However, even in the best world, it will take a good deal of your mission time, just to get all of the sandstone you need.Īs for military, you should go ahead and build a contengent of six warships to deal with the invaders and wipe them out before the transport unloads any troops. If you are running behind, there are some late gifts from Pharaoh to help you if you have been meeting your requests, and could help you. There are some other good trades here also, so don't forget beer exports and such. As Wooly mentioned, papyrus is a lucrative trade, so do start out on it. I finished Alex 1 with plenty of time, but you do want to start importing sandstone as soon as a trade route opens up, which is not at the beginning of the mission. Some thought to where you want them in making a grand final city in Alexandria 3, needs to be considered. If you play in the campaign, when you build a monument in an earlier version, the monument will show up the next time you come back, in the exact same place! So, the placement of the monuments is something that should not be done in a haphazard manner. You get three versions of this massive city and you build monuments in each of the three versions. I do have the Cleo pack now, and I am most interested in the Alexandrias, and have so far only been able to play Alexandria 1 myself. I am glad to see someone is excited about Cleo and is giving us the early run-down on what to expect. Sorry I haven't been over here much, but I am quite busy on the CB right now. The other 1/4th of the time RA increases my trading potential and I lose the mission. The interesting thing about those festivals is that my last save only gives me victory about 3/4ths of the time. About 15 festivals to RA pushed me to victory with two months left. Pharaoh gifted me alot of Sandstone and the monument was finished well before the deadline. My selling a ton of beer and papyrus saw my prosperity go way up in the next few years. When all the houses were full of pottery the buying of pottery slacked WAY off. Prosperity and Kingdom rating plummeted! Taxation of this high level housing helped as did the stabilization of the housing. I was buying way too much pottery every trip. This put me in debt for two years in a row. I think I had 50 of the homesteads and it only required 6. When I had 15k gold I imported pottery and evolved all of my housing to a high enough level to finish. More trade routes open to buy beer and sell Sandstone, and you need alot of Sandstone here. Ships came into the area and sank my fishing boats, but both times that there were landings I easily dispatched the troops with my two units and some police coverage at the landing point.Įxporting beer was also very profitable. This was all that I needed for the whole mission. They did this when the invasions started.įor the invasions I built a Infantry and an Archer. The papyrus exports were very lucrative for the first few years, then one of my papyrus buyers shut down their trade route. I started out by caging the Snakes and exporting Papyrus. I looked at the time limit here and it seemed like a really tough mission, but I squeaked by with only a few reloads.
